JeDeCo - Yamada Yumeko

Yumeko Yamada graduated from Central Saint Martin’s in 2008 and has had her jewellery exhibited in Europe in the last year.

The inspiration for this piece comes from Eastern culture and takes influences from the West; Yumeko’s travelling and living experiences in different countries integrates a multicultural history into her own personal perception of Beauty to form a truly personal and universal piece of jewellery. This Wings of Desire collection represents our freedom and human desire to touch the sky through flight to fairy tale. Yumeko has transformed these concepts to sophisticated forms for sharpening the lines and making asymmetrical shapes to create modern elegance, sensitivity and visual beauty. The delicate nature of the piece is reinforced with fine intricate lines and segments, allowing mobile freedom of design. Classical shapes of fashion like the fan and feather have been incorporated into the jewellery to give the piece a modern twist.
